Word for the Day: Elucidate
There are a number of things rolling around in my head at the moment I consider writing about but cannot find the time to do so. I am working on an information architecture (IA) project with an appliance manufacturer and we are challenged with introducing the practice of IA (how it is different than say a web site map or database schema), developing the information architecture itself, and the arduous task of articulating the IA in a format that is understandable and useful as a tool for the designers in the client’s organization. To this end the following word comes to mind:
Elucidate clarify: make clear and (more) comprehensible; “clarify the mystery surrounding her death”* clear: make free from confusion or ambiguity; make clear; “Could you clarify these remarks?”; “Clear up the question of who is at fault”
